Say it ain't so!
It would seem that the wave of girl groups who've been recently disbanding isn't just limited to South Korea! The Hallyu influenced music duo Coco Avenue have also revealed after several years and a number of lineup changes, that 2017 will be their last year as a group.
In an official press release from their camp, they stated:
After 5 years of activity, Coco Avenue has decided to disband due to personal differences. They will be having their last performance 7/13 at Hallyu Nights hosted by Dreamkatchers Initiative. Additionally, they have a scheduled performance for Kcon NY 6/24. Jenny will be opening for Reddy & G2 in LA 7/7. They also plan to come together one last time for Blurrie Con in PA. Coco Avenue would like to thank everyone who has supported them and wished them well on their journey. Please continue to support Jenna Rose & Jenny Lyric in their future endeavors.
Coco Avenue was referred to by many as the first African American K-pop Girl Group to come onto the scene. Their most recent single Eottae made waves for it's smooth R&B composition and dark sensual visuals. But it seems like now that Eottae will be the last we hear of them.
Are you sad to see Coco Avenue go? What are your thoughts on their disbandment?
